Symphyotrichum laeve ‘Calliope’
Symphyotrichum leave ‘Calliope’ (what was Aster ‘Calliope’) has rich lavender blue flowers in October contrasting with dark maroon flushed stems and leaves. Needs to be kept in check as it is vigorous and spreading, though this is easily done with a sharp spade in Spring. We do stake this tall cultivar at 180cm in height. Glorious backlit by late season Miscanthus sinensis ‘Silberfeder’ in Autumn.
